Sizewell C Secures Fuel Supply
Sizewell C has secured a long-term nuclear fuel supply, bolstering the UK's nuclear supply chain and supporting energy security.
The project has signed contracts with Urenco and Framatome for the provision of enriched uranium services and nuclear fuel fabrication.
- The contract with Urenco will support the first six years of the power station's operation.
- The contract will help to support around 1,000 existing highly skilled jobs at Urenco's enrichment site at Capenhurst, near Chester.
The long-term agreements will reduce reliance on fuel imports, strengthen the UK's nuclear supply chain, and support energy security.
