Near-Mythical Night Parrot Spotted in Outback
A bird thought to be lost to science for over a century has been caught on camera in the remote outback.
The night parrot, considered the planet's most elusive bird, was photographed in the spinifex grasslands near the border of Western Queensland and the Northern Territory.
- The sighting was confirmed by Bush Heritage Australia researchers.
- The photographs were taken at Maiawali Country at Pullen Pullen Special Wildlife Reserve.
The critical find for conservationists came earlier this month after three photographs captured one of the world's rarest and most cryptic birds.
