Familial clans have been a part of Palestinian society for centuries and have become increasingly influential in Palestinian politics.
- The clans are primarily collections of family groups in different parts of Gaza.
- One of the largest and most well-armed clans is the Dughmush clan in Gaza City, led by Mumtaz Dughmush.
- The al-Majayda clan also holds significant influence in part of Khan Younis.
Hamas has targeted the Dughmush clan immediately after the ceasefire.
