The provincial government is planning to update the design of licence plates, which have remained unchanged since 1984.
Until November 15, Albertans can participate in online voting to choose from eight unique designs that incorporate the province's landscape and history, all based on the theme of "Strong and Free".
The motto's inclusion on the licence plates will also serve as a nod to Canada's national anthem and Alberta's position as a strong and sovereign province within a united Canada.
The new design will be introduced in 2026 and is said to reflect "Alberta's bold identity, economic strength and deep-rooted provincial pride".
Residents can have their say in the refreshed look for the plates through online voting.
