Rosalia was the eldest of three siblings and spent her early years in Eureka before returning to the family ranch in Hoopa in her teens.
She attended school in the valley and graduated in the class of 1956, where she developed a passion for music, playing the tenor saxophone and piano in the school band.

Rosalia also played in the family band with her Uncle Ray and Auntie Edith and occasionally accompanied her brother's band, Merv George Band.
She shared her love of music with her daughter and granddaughter, both of whom played the saxophone.
