Ron DeSantis, currently 47, believes that people under 50 do not require comprehensive health insurance.

Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.

DeSantis, having served in the Navy, has access to socialized medicine, and since 2012, he and his family have also benefited from government-subsidized health care due to his tenure in Congress and as Governor.

Despite having access to these benefits, DeSantis claims they are not necessary for him, stating that most people do not pay a lot for medical care on a routine basis.
