Son of Ex-England Football Captain Killed in Tractor Crash

Harley Pearce, the 21-year-old son of former England football captain Stuart Pearce, was killed in a tractor crash near Cirencester.

He died in a single-vehicle collision on the A417 Old Birdlip Hill in Witcombe. His family paid tribute, describing him as

Emergency services were called at around 2:30pm on Thursday, October 16, with a report of a collision involving a tractor on the A417 Old Birdlip Hill. Harley, from Marlborough in Wiltshire, was the driver of the tractor and died at the scene.

His father, Stuart Pearce, is a renowned former English footballer and manager, known for his passionate leadership and fierce defending. He spent most of his playing career at Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough, captaining the team and earning over 400 appearances.

Stuart Pearce won 78 caps for England, famously scoring in the Euro ’96 penalty shootout against Spain after his earlier miss in 1990.
