Amazon Web Services Issues Cause Canvas Outage
Canvas, the platform used by Emory University to facilitate classes, is experiencing a full outage due to Amazon Web Services (AWS) issues.
According to Canvas' status website, the outage has impacted half of all North American higher education institutions that use its services.

- Typically, Downdetector receives about 5-10 complaints an hour about Canvas.
Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, blamed the outage on an AWS issue, causing problems with the login service and submission system.
The company first reported issues around 3:04 a.m. EST, leaving users unable to sign in or submit work.
