The Trump administration has laid off over 100 employees at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), according to sources who spoke to NPR.
Current and former employees reported that the layoffs occurred late Friday as the government shutdown continued, with employees notified of a "Reduction in Force" shortly before 8 p.m. ET.
In contrast, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had some cuts reversed late Saturday, sources said.
