The Crown Estate is planning a landmark expansion in Oxfordshire, delivering 4.5m sq ft of labs and homes.
The expansion will include up to 4.5 million sq ft of new lab, office, and advanced manufacturing space, alongside 400 homes, forming one of the UK's biggest research and innovation hubs.
The aim is to create the space for great science to flourish and ensure the UK remained at the forefront of global innovation.
Chief executive Dan Labbad stated this goal, as part of The Crown Estate's plan to invest £1.5bn in the UK's science, innovation, and technology sectors over 15 years.
Planning work is led by Crucible, founded by former Harwell Campus director Angus Horner, who conceived the Harwell East vision.
