British Grandma Speaks Out After 12 Years on Death Row

Lindsay Sandiford, a 69-year-old British grandmother, has spoken out for the first time since her release from death row in Indonesia.

Sandiford was arrested in 2012 after Indonesian police found approximately 11lb of cocaine in her suitcase, valued at around £1.6 million.

Despite claims that she was coerced into the crime after a local gang allegedly threatened to kill her son, she was sentenced to death and placed in Kerobokan Prison in Bali in 2013.

A repatriation deal between the UK and Indonesian governments has led to her release after 12 years on death row.

Author's summary: British grandma released after 12 years on death row.
