President Mahama's Plan for Persons with Disabilities
President John Mahama has announced a plan to distribute motorised wheelchairs to persons with disabilities.
The initiative is part of the government's broader agenda to create a more inclusive society, remove barriers, promote empowerment, and foster equality for all Ghanaians.
"We intend to introduce a system for distributing rechargeable motorised wheelchairs for persons with disability,"
President Mahama also directed all ministers to ensure full compliance with Ghana's Disability Act, presenting action plans within the shortest possible time.
The announcement was made at the launch of the Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities initiative in Accra.
