Alumni Urge Ohio University to Reinstate Suspended Professor Thomas Hayes
Alumni of Ohio University are rallying behind Professor Thomas Hayes, who was suspended after joining an aid flotilla to Gaza.
A letter signed by over 150 former professors and graduates of the university's film and theater programs was sent to President Lori Stewart Gonzalez, urging her to "do the right thing, and reinstate Tom Hayes immediately as the instructor of The Art of Editing."
Hayes was detained by the Israeli military after they intercepted the flotilla in international waters, and the university suspended him for violating the faculty handbook by changing his class to a virtual format during the semester.
