Minor Bicyclist in Life-Threatening Condition After Crash
A juvenile bicyclist is in life-threatening condition after being struck by a pickup truck early Friday morning, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash occurred near the intersection of Roth Road and State Road 1 in northeast Allen County, just after 1:30 a.m. Both the truck and the electric bicycle were headed north on Roth Road when the pickup attempted to pass the bicyclist.
- The bike veered left and hit the back of the truck for unknown reasons.
- The minor bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
- Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to officers.
