Another Sobering Reminder
A tragic accident involving two motorcycles in Barangay Cabiangon, Pinamungajan, Cebu, resulted in the death of Judge Carmela Rosario Pasquin, 41, last Wednesday.
Pasquin, a presiding judge in the Municipal Circuit Trial Court Branch 14 of Pinamungajan-Aloguinsan, was a passenger on a Honda ADV driven by her court processor, Eric Gelizon Lanzarate, when it was hit by a Suzuki Smash heading in the same direction.
The driver of the Smash, a 19-year-old, had no license to drive and was carrying two passengers. The collision sent both motorcycles crashing, resulting in Pasquin's death and various injuries to the others.
According to the police report, the Smash driver suddenly swerved left and hit the Honda ADV, leading us to believe that he caused the accident.
The accident is a sobering reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
