Timor-Leste Joins ASEAN
Asia's youngest country, Timor-Leste, has officially joined the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as its 11th member.
According to President José Ramos-Horta, the country is ready to get to work despite being one of the poorest in the region.
The real hard work begins now.
The confirmation of Timor-Leste's accession comes at the start of ASEAN's 47th summit in Kuala Lumpur.
