Alfonso Trona, head of Curaçao's Tax Department, has taken a leave of absence due to an ongoing corruption investigation.
The investigation, conducted by the Criminal Investigation Cooperation Team (RST) and the National Detective Agency (Landsrecherche), follows allegations of corruption reported in the media and a recent SOAB report.

Trona expressed regret over attempts to damage his reputation, emphasizing his honesty and dedication throughout his career, and expects to resume his duties once the investigation concludes.
