A record wave of new liquefied natural gas production capacity is set to transform gas market dynamics by strengthening global supply security and easing market pressure, according to the International Energy Agency.
The IEA's "Gas 2025" medium-term outlook report states that 300 billion cubic metres per year of LNG export capacity will be added by 2030, primarily in the United States and Qatar.
This will result in a potential net LNG supply increase of 250 billion cubic meters a year by 2030, leading to
lower prices in the years ahead and spur higher demand, the agency said.
