With 2 ballots at stake, here’s how Elections Yukon will conduct the count

Conducting the Count in the 2025 Territorial Elections

When Yukon electors go to vote in the 2025 territorial elections, they will receive two ballots that are clearly distinguishable and separated by perforation.

Chief electoral officer Maxwell Harvey explained that one traditional ballot will list the electoral district and candidates in ballot order, determined by a random draw. The plebiscite ballot will be the same size but have a different design, containing the plebiscite question and yes or no options, as well as a blue stripe and clear marking.

Neither of the ballots themselves contain information identifying the voter.

Harvey said the two ballots will be separated for electors at the polls, maintaining the secrecy of the votes.

Author's summary: Yukon electors will receive two distinguishable ballots in the 2025 territorial elections.
