Plan Unveiled to Axe 100 Years of History
A recommendation has been made to end racing at Maitland's historic showground venue, but Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) boss Steve Griffin expects the venue to remain a key part of the sport.
If Maitland were to close, the racing meetings would stay in the Hunter.
According to a report by Deloitte Australia, Maitland is one of three TAB tracks, alongside Wagga Wagga and Broken Hill, set to close by June 30 next year as part of a reform to streamline the industry.
