ChatGPT Partners with PayPal for Seamless Payments
OpenAI's ChatGPT has teamed up with PayPal to enable users to purchase products directly within the chat platform.
According to CNBC, PayPal has signed a contract with OpenAI to integrate its digital wallet into ChatGPT, allowing users to easily pay for product recommendations made by the AI tool.
- PayPal users will be able to make payments via ChatGPT.
- Merchants will be able to list and sell their goods in ChatGPT.
OpenAI is turning ChatGPT into an e-commerce platform, hoping its 700 million weekly active users will use the AI as a "personal shopper".
This partnership follows OpenAI's previous announcement to enable payments via Walmart, Shopify, and Etsy in the US via Instant Checkout.
PayPal aims to position itself alongside leading AI providers, including Google and Perplexity.
