Call for Resignation and Termination
A citizen's efforts to expose a spending scandal have led to a demand for the resignation of North Bay Mayor Peter Chirico and the termination of CAO John Severino.
Keven Ferris, who filed Freedom of Information requests along with Nicole Peltier, expressed disappointment but not surprise at the Integrity Commissioner's report. The report, released by Guy Giorno, found that Chirico violated the Code of Conduct but did not adequately hold him accountable.
Giorno gave the mayor the most generous interpretation of the code of conduct that he could have. It doesn't even admonish the mayor.
The backlash against the report is growing, with many calling for Chirico to resign and for Severino, who approved the expenses, to be fired.
