Fatal Head-on Collision near Crestview
A 23-year-old cab driver, Amanpreet Brar, has been charged with three offenses under the Territorial Motor Vehicles Act following a fatal collision on September 28.
The collision occurred on the Alaska Highway, adjacent to the Crestview neighborhood in Whitehorse, around 10:30 p.m., resulting in the death of 64-year-old Ricky John and his dog.
- Crossing a double solid line
- Driving left of the centre line
- Careless driving
Brar was driving a southbound minivan taxicab with a passenger when the crash occurred, and both he and the passenger were hospitalized after the collision.
Brar is scheduled to make his first court appearance on November 18 in Whitehorse.
