Book club meets knitting club
Handcrafts are good for the brain, stimulating several parts of it, and working with hands can make us more vigilant or relaxed, making it a perfect combination with listening to stories.
Novellikoukku, or "Short-Story Hook", is a club where people gather to crochet, knit or do other handicrafts while listening to short stories read aloud.
This social event in a soothing atmosphere is a great example of what many Finns consider cozy.
