New Electric Squad Cars for Onalaska PD

The Onalaska Police Department is introducing new all-electric squad cars, which are expected to bring long-term savings, improved safety, and enhanced officer comfort.

According to Police Chief Charles Ashbeck, the new vehicles will provide several benefits. Officers Leah Myers and Tyler Blair have already begun exploring the features of the new electric squad car.

A press conference was held, where a spokesperson for North Central Region Emergency Vehicles addressed Chief Ashbeck and officers. Additionally, EV chargers have been installed in the Onalaska city hall parking lot.

The Onalaska police department also hosted a debut ceremony for the new electric squad cars, complete with cookies decorated with an EV pump and police car.

Noise levels will be significantly reduced, as the new squad cars will be nearly silent unless their sirens are activated.
