EMU Field Hockey Drops ODAC Opener
The EMU field hockey women began their ODAC schedule with a 3-1 road loss at Randolph-Macon, falling to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in the ODAC.
The game saw a strong defensive effort from EMU, punctuated by timely offense, but ultimately not enough to secure a win. Randolph-Macon took an early lead with a goal, and made it 2-0 with a score in the 22nd minute.
EMU made a strong push in the second half, earning a corner in the 35th minute.
Brandy Troutman (Mountville, Pa./Hempfield) had her first shot blocked, but got the ball back, went left and shot right, hitting the cage to cut the deficit in half.
