Softball: North Hall Eliminated from 3A Tourney
Bayleigh Gennaro's walk-off single scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to lift Pickens past North Hall, 3-2, on Friday in the GHSA Elite 8 tournament at the South Commons Softball Complex.
After losing to Lafayette on Thursday, the Trojans faced Region 6-3A foe Pickens, who they split with in the regular season, to keep their Class 3A championship hopes alive in the losers' bracket of the tournament.
Bayleigh Gennaro's clutch hit in the bottom of the seventh crushed the Trojans' title hopes, and capped a back-and-forth battle that featured two impressive pitching performances.
Kendra Stewart went the distance for the Dragonettes (20-8), striking out eight while allowing just two runs on seven hits.
