Educators and students are speaking out against the pro-business, militarist assault on Australian university jobs.

The Committee for Public Education (CFPE) and the International Youth and Students for Social Equality (IYSSE) held a public meeting to oppose mass job cuts at Australian universities and the broader assault on public education.
- 3,500 jobs have been destroyed at universities across the country over the past 10 months.
- Many more jobs are slated to be axed as part of the transformation of the sector.
This transformation is being spearheaded by the federal Labor government, aiming to subordinate the sector to the needs of corporations and the military, placing it in a global context.
