Uzbekistan: Proposed Law Threatens Photojournalism

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is deeply concerned about a bill recently passed by the Lower House of the Uzbek parliament, which would ban photographing and filming people in public without their consent.

If passed, it would seriously restrict journalists’ work in a country with widespread censorship and surveillance.

Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.
