Thousands of students in Alberta walked out to support teachers whose strike was broken by the government.
"We will begin the process of organizing towards a potential general strike," AFL President McGowan said.
Students are building momentum as the Alberta Federation of Labour prepares to fight. The contract imposed by the government was rejected by teachers twice, with almost 90% voting against it in the last vote.
"I see it every day, every class. Forty people, at least, in every single class! It’s taking away from my learning, my classmates’ learning,"
said student protester Wyatt Gubersky. Students organized the walkout through social media and group chats.
