Tuva Kandell Leaves Northeastern for Pro Swedish Team
Tuva Kandell, a sophomore defender, has left Northeastern to join the professional Swedish team Frölunda Hockey Club, currently leading the Swedish Women’s Hockey League.
Coming back is the right step for me. I want to be a part of Frölunda, and it feels inspiring to try to go for another Swedish championship gold.
Kandell's last game for the Huskies was on Oct. 18 against Quinnipiac University. She collected one goal and two assists in six games this season. Notably, she was named Best Defender at the 2022 U18 World Championships, where she last represented Sweden.
Kandell is signed with Frölunda through the next season.
