New Ferry to Take Over Irish Sea Route
A new ferry, the MV Ben My Chree, has arrived at Fishguard Harbour in Pembrokeshire to take over the route to Rosslare until December.
The vessel, operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, will replace the Stena Nordica while it undergoes dry dock maintenance.
- The MV Ben My Chree is a roll-on, roll-off passenger ferry with a capacity for 500 passengers and 200 cars.
- It was built in the Netherlands in 1998 and has undergone refits in 2004 and 2014, including a £1.6 million upgrade.
The new ferry will operate on the Fishguard-Rosslare route from November 3 to November 18, after which Fishguard Port will close until December 4.
No official statement has been made regarding the closure.
