Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has stated that his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in the best interest of the state.
Someone had to make the decision, and that he did so on behalf of Bayelsans.
Diri made this comment during the 14th Bayelsa Thanksgiving Day at the Ecumenical Centre in Igbogene, Yenagoa, on Sunday. He acknowledged that his move might initially confuse some, but expressed confidence that time will reveal his motives as truly selfless.
He emphasized the importance of unity in Bayelsa for development, saying
Politics should be about building, not destroying. Diri's formal reception into the APC is scheduled for Monday, November 3.
