Helena candidate McKnight responds to release of highly charged voicemail to Sheehy's office

Helena Candidate Responds to Voicemail Release

Helena city commission candidate Haley McKnight has responded to the release of a highly charged voicemail left at Sen. Tim Sheehy's office.

According to Sheehy's office, the voicemail was received earlier this year, just a day before Helena's city elections. McKnight allegedly called Sheehy's Helena district office on July 1, after the Senate advanced Republicans' "One Big Bill" that included tighter restrictions on Medicaid.

McKnight's policies "stripped away health care" for millions of Americans.

McKnight has expressed regret over some of the language used in the voicemail, but feels her anger was "justifiable rage" in response to Sheehy's actions in office.

Sheehy's office issued a news release Monday, linking to an article from the conservative publication National Review, which reported on the voicemail.
