Election Day in New York: What's Open and Closed
Election Day is a state holiday in New York, resulting in the closure of state and local government buildings.

Voting Leave
According to the Time Off to Vote Notice (New York State Election Law Section 3-110), employees can take up to two hours off without loss of pay to vote if they do not have time to attend the polls during their shift.
The first Tuesday in November is recognized as a holiday in New York State, although it is not a federal holiday.
