Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) has introduced a custom-built float celebrating maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, emphasizing its critical role in delivering festive joy to South Australians.
The pageant, a cherished tradition since 1933, marks the beginning of the Christmas season in South Australia. Thousands of spectators of all ages gather along Adelaide’s city streets to enjoy the event, which begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, 8 November, with the golden whistle signaling its start.
FPH expressed excitement about unveiling their float for the first time in five years. The float highlights maritime trade’s contribution by showcasing:
“Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts,” said FPH.
The float includes a blue fabric ruffle below to simulate the Pilot Boat gliding through water, adding a dynamic and festive effect.
This week, FPH officially launched the float at Outer Harbor, with some of their FPH elves participating in the festivities.
FPH shared on social media they were “thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float” which “celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy, and presents, to South Australians each year.”
