Team Canada Unveils 2026 Olympic Hockey Jerseys

Team Canada revealed its new Olympic and Paralympic hockey jerseys during the women’s national team’s Rivalry Series game against the United States. The teams will once again feature black and red maple leaves at the 2026 Winter Games in Italy.

Design and Colors

Hockey Canada presented two main jerseys for the upcoming Olympics. The red jersey features a multi-toned black maple leaf crest with black stripes at the sleeves and bottom. The white version reverses that palette, with a multi-toned red maple leaf and red striping accents.

According to Hockey Canada, the maple leaf crest was designed to resemble an “unbreakable diamond.”

The crest combines sublimated satin twill and silicon materials to produce its shimmering, layered effect. Each jersey also includes detailed numbering: white digits on the red variant and red on the white, both enhanced by dotted accents that create a dimensional, perforated appearance.

Historical Context

This Olympic tournament will mark the debut of Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) players, following the league’s founding in 2023. It also sees the return of NHL players for the first time since the 2014 Sochi Games. In Beijing 2022, Canada wore similar color patterns, featuring red, white, and black designs centered on the national maple leaf motif.

Author’s Summary

Team Canada’s 2026 hockey jerseys blend tradition and innovation, uniting classic maple leaf symbols with modern materials for a bold national statement on Olympic ice.
