Elder Gérald Caussé was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His calling was announced on Thursday and he was ordained by President Dallin H. Oaks along with members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Gérald Caussé, who also serves as Presiding Bishop, spoke to youth during a devotional in Versailles, France, on July 21, 2024. He expressed deep faith in Jesus Christ, stating:
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
According to the Church, Apostles serve as “special witnesses of the name of Christ throughout the world.” They also hold important administrative roles, overseeing the operation and growth of the Church globally.
Caussé, age 62, was born in Bordeaux, France, and continues to dedicate his life to the Church in his new role.
