Remembrance Day Garbage Collection Advisory

The Ministry of Public Works and Environment advises that there will be no garbage collection on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Remembrance Day.

"Household waste will not be collected on the Remembrance Day holiday, Tuesday, November 11," said a Government spokesperson. "Instead, Tuesday’s waste will be collected on Wednesday, starting a ‘roll-over’ schedule that concludes with Friday’s waste being collected on Saturday."

This week is part of the recycling collection schedule, with west end recycling on Thursday and east end recycling on Friday. Recycling days will not change due to the holiday.

Residents may also bring household waste and recyclables to the Tynes Bay Public Drop-Off, which will be open on Tuesday, November 11, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Afterward, it will return to its regular hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily.
