During a pre-pageant event in Thailand, tensions flared between Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch and Miss Universe executive Nawat Itsaragrisil. The disagreement led several contestants to walk out in protest.
The dispute began when Bosch declined Itsaragrisil’s request for all participants to promote the host country on their social media accounts.
“You are in Thailand. You are in a game,”
Itsaragrisil warned, insisting that Bosch participate in a photoshoot and publicly share a post supporting Thailand.
As Bosch tried to explain her viewpoint, Itsaragrisil accused her of following instructions from Mexico’s pageant directors rather than the Thai organizing team, calling her a “dummy.” When he demanded she sit down, Bosch refused, responding:
“Because I have a voice. You’re not respecting me as a woman.”
Other contestants voiced their disapproval as security was called to remove Bosch. While exiting, she declared:
“As women, you need to show respect for us.”
The confrontation prompted multiple participants to leave the event in solidarity with Miss Mexico.
A dispute between Miss Mexico and a pageant executive over social media promotion in Thailand led to public conflict and a walkout by several contestants supporting her stance on respect and equality.
