Erika Kirk became emotional while discussing her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during an interview on Fox News. She reflected on their relationship and his mission before his assassination on September 10.
Speaking to Jesse Watters, Erika recalled supporting Charlie as his career grew, especially his work at Turning Point USA. During the interview, Jesse showed her several video clips of Charlie.
“It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second,”
Erika said, bowing her head as tears began to fall.
Jesse gently consoled her, saying,
“Take your time.”The broadcast faded to black as Erika struggled to regain composure.
Returning to the interview visibly calmer but still teary-eyed, Erika shared more about Charlie's purpose.
“Charlie was on a mission to save Western civilization. Did you know that's what you signed up for?”
Jesse asked.
“No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life,”
Erika replied.
When asked about the day before the shooting, Erika shared:
“He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event.”
