Road Closures in the City for Pageant Day Tomorrow
The Christmas Pageant marks the start of the festive season tomorrow morning, bringing the city alive with celebration. Road users are advised to plan ahead due to multiple closures across the CBD.
Several major streets will be closed from early morning until afternoon to accommodate over 300,000 spectators expected to attend the annual event. A complete list of road closures is available on the Christmas Pageant website.
Pageant Route
This year’s parade follows the traditional path:
- Starting at South Terrace
- Turning onto King William Street
- Along the western edge of Tarntanyangga
- Through Reconciliation Plaza
- Along Wakefield Street and Pulteney Street
- Continuing on North Terrace
- Ending at Beehive Corner
Safety and Transport Advice
“The Christmas Pageant brings huge numbers to the city each year so road closures will be in place tomorrow morning to keep everyone safe,” said Charles Mountain, RAA Senior Manager Safety and Infrastructure.
“On-street parking will be as rare as a white Christmas, so check for off-street options and allow plenty of extra time if you’re driving to the Pageant.”
Attendees are encouraged to use alternative transport or park off-street to avoid delays and congestion.
