Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo exited the Wednesday matchup against the Denver Nuggets due to a left foot injury. The 28-year-old, initially listed as questionable, did not return to the game. At that point, the Heat were trailing 122–112 in the fourth quarter.
According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Adebayo sustained a painful left foot injury early in the game, playing only eight minutes before being forced to leave the court.
“Bam Adebayo not on the court for the start of the second half. Kel'el Ware starting in Adebayo's place,”
Chiang posted this update on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, confirming that Adebayo would not return.
Fans expressed frustration and concern on social media following Adebayo’s exit, noting how crucial he is to the team’s success on both ends of the floor.
“Obviously Bam going down was unexpected but still competing vs the #1 offense and a top 5 defense is still something to build on. Last year’s team would’ve lost by 35. There shouldn’t ever be a rebound disparity of 20 rebounds — that’s deflating and gives the other team more chances.”
“Was always gonna be tough with Bam. Made impossible once he didn’t come back in. Proud of the effort the group showed... hopefully Nikola Jokic can give Niko some advice while he’s there. Hopefully Bam’s injury isn’t too bad, but the lack of updates is worrying.”
Before the injury, Adebayo had been averaging 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, maintaining a shooting percentage of 46% for the season.
The Miami Heat’s hopes took a hit after Bam Adebayo’s left foot injury against Denver, leaving fans anxious about his recovery and the team’s balance moving forward.
