Experience a de-aged Will Byers running from a tree-climbing Demogorgon as the final season of Stranger Things approaches its November release on Netflix.
Before the staggered launch of season 5, Netflix shared the first five minutes on YouTube for fans to enjoy. The preview begins with a strong sense of nostalgia, echoing the show's original setting in November 1983.
We see a young Will Byers, portrayed with CGI to appear younger, facing terror from the Demogorgon. As Will attempts to stay calm, the Demogorgon unsettlingly sings The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.”
Despite a shot to the face, the Demogorgon is unphased and surprises viewers by climbing trees, a skill not previously shown. After leaping between branches, Will falls and loses consciousness on the ground.
The Demogorgon drags Will’s limp body toward Vecna, a shadowy figure controlling events from the background.
“The Demogorgon, news to everyone, including the abject horror of Will, can also climb trees.”
“Looming in the shadows, moving chess pieces and whatnot.”
This chilling introduction sets the tone for the final season, linking past events to the ominous new threats.
The five-minute preview combines nostalgia and new terrors by showing a de-aged Will pursued by the Demogorgon, hinting at eerie connections to the final season’s villain.
