A massive Amazon Web Services outage caused significant disruptions worldwide on Monday.
The outage, which lasted several hours, affected 64 internal AWS services, according to the company. AWS hosts websites for major businesses, government, universities, and media organizations.

AWS started investigating the issue at 3 a.m. (ET) and identified a potential cause by 5 a.m.
