Arson Charge for Cobleskill Man

A 32-year-old Cobleskill man, Dave Torres, has been charged with third-degree arson after allegedly setting an apartment on fire following an argument.

According to State Police, the incident occurred on Monday at around 10:15 p.m. on East Main Street. Troopers responded to a report of an unwanted person, but were soon notified of a fire at a neighboring three-unit apartment building.

Investigators found that Torres had been involved in an argument with a person at the neighboring home, during which he threatened and briefly physically harmed the victim before returning to the scene.

It is alleged that Torres intentionally set fire to the apartment of the person with whom he had the argument.
